As a Application Developer you are responsible for 1. Working in partnership with the project team and business to fully understand project goals and requirements and use this knowledge to effectively plan and execute the development process. 2. Develop, test and maintain software applications using Java, Spring Web MVC, Spring Portlet MVC and JavaScript. 3. Responsible for Writing code, adhering to coding standards, procedures and techniques. 4. Work on a variety of projects, including web-based applications, API development, and integrations with third-party systems
Responsibilities
Design & Build
Write code, adhering to coding standards, procedures and techniques.
Actively participate in the code review process to ensure development work adheres to standards and specifications (including peer review and code review external to team).
Create low level design documents (including code samples/outlines) and detailed engineering specifications based on complex business, user and non-functional (e.g., performance, reliability) requirements.
Test & Execute
Unit test all code and programs prior to releasing them to quality assurance.
Assist quality assurance in identifying test cases and creating/mining test data to enable a thorough test of all development deliverables.
Respond to all inquiries and issues in a timely manner as developed code/program moves through the testing
2-4 years of software development experience, including requirements analysis, design, build/unit test.
Experience with application maintenance, support, and incident management.
Proven technical expertise in back-end languages – Core Java, Struts, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Java Script, CSS etc, Web-Services etc, browser technologies, database and SQL, development and collaboration tools.
Understanding and implementation of Microservices and Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift Knowledge
Familiar with modern engineering practices: code reviews, continuous-deployment, automated testing.
Demonstrated skill and expertise in working with cross functional teams. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Experience working in content management and Spring Portlet MVC is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of network protocols and network based services, including routing and network load balancing
Experience building and supporting containerized applications on various platforms like GKE, EKS, ECS
Good understanding on AWS and front end technologies
